I would mock up using the shock you have and a piece of wood or metal with holes at the appropriate distance for when the shock is bottomed out. As long as when it is bottomed and the tire has at least 6 - 10 mm of clearance then it should work fine. Im assuming this is a solid axle set up so you will want to test for when one or both sides are bottomed because there will probably be a slight difference in clearance because of the angle.

A POS that went everywhere I ever needed or wanted it to go. Even with a dead clutch. It outran a Triumph TR6 and made two Ferrari's sorta try to keep up. (Until we hit the paved back road that I knew and he didn't. Then he actually had to try.) If you go through the PB Subaru fan club thread, there are some good stories in there.

That van was a 1998 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport wagon and yes I hit a tree...at about 20 MPH. The car was totaled, I was fine, the airbag never went off, and now I'm saving for a new car.

go on www.mcmastercarr.com and type in the part number 9517K12. This is a piece of 5" x 24" x .0625" thick 1018 sheet steel. Its $42 for this, so you will have extra. Cant find a shorter length at that width but there may be others for different widths.
Out of curiosity, what are you doing with this?

Nope, as marzocchi was known for the stiffest sc forks, and then for the super-t/jr-t, and then the 888... Meanwhile the Shiver was duped the flexiest marzocchi of all time(the sc version was deemed by many, unridable.

I don't care for inverteds. By haveing no brace at the top of the wheel, allows side to side flex of the wheel, and I've seen this bad enough on a fork that allowed the tire to rub the fork when cornering...
Why do you think marzocchi dropped one of the most raved inverts of all time.

naw i was saying like i thought the hammerschmidt was hard to understand but i found out the gearbox was much harder. the hammerschmidt makes a lot of sense actually. i thought about it for a while, and found out why there is only 1 chainring. so i looked at the pics and saw that the gears inside the cranks are just doing the shifting, not the actual chainrings. amazing.
